US woman walks for justice

March 2nd 2015

A 47-year-old woman who was raped while sleeping rough under a bridge in Ohio, was so determined to get justice that she walked three hours to attend the court hearings.

Her attacker, Paul E Hubert, 54, finally pleaded guilty to rape and was sentenced to three years in prison.

“He was counting on her not showing up,” police detective James Ashenhurst told the Columbus Dispatch. “If it wasn’t for her co-operation, he would have been the one to walk."
