Transport land sell-off

November 2nd 2015

Transport for London (TfL) has pledged to release land for 10,000 new homes across the capital over the coming decade.

According to a BBC report, Tesco is selling its abandoned sites in London, the South-East and Bath to property investment firm Meyer Bergman. “Building houses is more profitable than building shops”, notes BBC business editor Kamal Ahmed. TfL, meanwhile, claims it will be “working with planning officers in local councils to maximise the amount of affordable and social housing that is delivered”.
