The Scottish Welfare Fund is to be extended beyond its original end date to support young people at risk from changes to housing benefit.

Following 1 April, people aged ?18 to 21 will no longer be entitled?to housing benefit unless they have special circumstances like a disability or a dependent child.

Scottish Social Security Secretary Angela Constance told Scottish Housing News that "the policy will clearly lead to a rise in the level of homelessness among that age group."
