Your rights
The Rights Guide for Rough Sleepers outlines your rights around arrest, stop and search, answering police questions, move-ons, no-drinking zones, sleeping rough, taking a pee in public and highway obstruction. It was put together by the Pavement, Housing Justice, Liberty and Zacchaeus 2000.
If your benefits have been sanctioned (cut off or reduced) and you feel this is unfair, you can appeal. Print this letter and hand it in at the office where you sign on. If you feel you need more advice about sanctions, contact Zacchaeus 2000 or your nearest Citizen’s Advice Bureau. And let us know contact@thepavement.org.uk at the Pavement!

Glass Door runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter, providing men and women a safe, warm place to sleepfrom November to April. Individuals affected by homelessness also access advice, food, showers and laundry facilities year-round from drop-in day centres that work in partnership with the charity.

The NEWway Project day centre offers guests showers, laundry services, hot and cold food, clothes and toiletries, baking and cooking sessions, weekly reflections, woodwork and gardening days, fun outings and simply a community to be with. They also have a range of services, including housing advice, benefits advice, debt advice and general advocacy advice. Also offer guests support from partners who can be accessed through NEWday including dental, physical and mental health services, addiction services, immigration advice, education, training and employment organisations and more. Day services are open between 7:30am & 2.30pm weekdays. Wednesday is a women-only service.

Sufra is a charity in north west London that prevents hunger, fights poverty and builds community. Coordinates a food bank & community kitchen in Brent, supporting disadvantaged individuals and families suffering food poverty in NW London. Phone or visit. Food bank address and opening times: Sufra NW London 160 Pitfield Way, NW10 0PW. TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 11AM - 3PM. The community kitchen serves free, freshly-cooked, 2 or 3 course hot meals. It runs Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 6PM TO 8PM at New Horizons Centre, 1 Robson Avenue, NW10 3SG.

Provides a broad range of services for homeless people, vulnerable and excluded of west London. Services include UR4Meals, UR4Jobs and UR4Driving. UR4Meals offers free meals every weekday afternoon from 4 – 6 pm. There is also a limited supply of toiletries, clothing and bedding UR4Jobs is a FREE multilingual service designed to help people experiencing homelessness, and those with other barriers to employment, to find work. Provides structured casework to guests. Drop-in service runs every Friday 10am – 12pm. UR4Driving helps people with convictions avoid re-offending by offering them a unique opportunity to gain a full car driving licence. See if you're eligible to apply on the website.

Webber Street offers life-giving care to people experiencing homelessness. Includes cooked breakfast (Monday to Thursday only) and a hot drink; access to showers, clean clothes and toiletries; referrals, help with filling in forms and accessing help; arts group; Bible explore group; 1-2-1 sessions; nurse clinics; fortnightly podiatrist clinics. Monday – Thursday: 8:45 – 11:45am, 1 – 4pm Friday: Women’s Space 9:30am – 12:30pm
