Your rights
The Rights Guide for Rough Sleepers outlines your rights around arrest, stop and search, answering police questions, move-ons, no-drinking zones, sleeping rough, taking a pee in public and highway obstruction. It was put together by the Pavement, Housing Justice, Liberty and Zacchaeus 2000.
If your benefits have been sanctioned (cut off or reduced) and you feel this is unfair, you can appeal. Print this letter and hand it in at the office where you sign on. If you feel you need more advice about sanctions, contact Zacchaeus 2000 or your nearest Citizen’s Advice Bureau. And let us know contact@thepavement.org.uk at the Pavement!

RESTART Lives, a London-based charity, supports homeless individuals though tailored casework, group programmes and meal services, helping people secure housing, find employment and improve mental and physical wellbeing. Mon – Fri: There are a number of events and services taking place through the week, including casework sessions, pop-ups and projects (such as gardening and art classes), group mental health sessions and children's and families services. RHEST (Regional Homeless Engagement with Substance Treatment)

This service is aimed at improving access to drug and alcohol treatment for people who sleep rough or are housed in a hostel or other temporary accommodation. The RhEST team at Phoenix Futures assertively engages with referrals through outreach and in-reach. It operates across all London boroughs. It delivers time-limited interventions that improve access to services. It will assess barriers to drug and alcohol treatment for each individual and collaborates with a range of agencies to improve outcomes. Community welfare project in Kentish Town. Its objective is to relieve poverty through giving advice and practical support to those in need. SanKTus provides meals, showers, warm clothes and befriending, as well as referrals into statutory and community-based services. The service runs drop-ins open to all two days a week. Sundays 2pm - 3.15pm: hot meals, tea, coffee and cakes in a communal setting. Hot showers and a clean change of clothes are available on request. Wednesdays 1.45pm - 3.15pm: social with sandwiches and refreshments for anyone looking for nourishment, company or other support. Clothing and toiletries available.
