Your rights
The Rights Guide for Rough Sleepers outlines your rights around arrest, stop and search, answering police questions, move-ons, no-drinking zones, sleeping rough, taking a pee in public and highway obstruction. It was put together by the Pavement, Housing Justice, Liberty and Zacchaeus 2000.
If your benefits have been sanctioned (cut off or reduced) and you feel this is unfair, you can appeal. Print this letter and hand it in at the office where you sign on. If you feel you need more advice about sanctions, contact Zacchaeus 2000 or your nearest Citizen’s Advice Bureau. And let us know contact@thepavement.org.uk at the Pavement!

RESTART Lives, a London-based charity, supports homeless individuals though tailored casework, group programmes and meal services, helping people secure housing, find employment and improve mental and physical wellbeing. Mon – Fri: There are a number of events and services taking place through the week, including casework sessions, pop-ups and projects (such as gardening and art classes), group mental health sessions and children's and families services. 16-bed hostel offering a therapeutic programme for homeless men. Self-refer on the website. Acorn House specialises in addiction recovery. The therapeutic programme offers abstinence-based treatment, including group and one-to-one counselling, where residents are encouraged to work through traumas and challenging behaviours. Open to hard-to-reach clients with complex needs, often those with a history of street homelessness.
