Glass Door runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter, providing men and women a safe, warm place to sleepfrom November to April. Individuals affected by homelessness also access advice, food, showers and laundry facilities year-round from drop-in day centres that work in partnership with the charity.

GrowTH is a partnership of churches opening its doors to those homeless in Tower Hamlets. Our main project is an emergency night shelter which provides both immediate shelter for homeless men and women and assistance in securing more permanent longer-term accommodation. Day centre for young people aged 18–24 needing help with homelessness. Please bring your ID to your first visit, you will need to register at reception. Daily day centre services, activities and stay for a hot lunch. New Horizon can help with: Housing advice and advocacy; Support with accessing benefits and Universal Credit; Education, employment and training support; Counselling and mental health support; Physical and sexual health advice; Breakfast and hot lunches; Showers; Wifi; Laundry; Clothes and health essentials; Youth work and life skills programme including art, music, sports and drama.

Referral-only winter night shelter and year-round NEWday centre for homeless people in Newham, with extended Advocacy services and life-skills workshops. Office hours: Monday to Sunday, 9am-2:30pm.

Quaker Homeless Action runs mobile libraries. The Christmas Shelter (24 beds, dry) provides breakfast and supper for up to 75. It closes at 10pm except for those who have been given a bed. Self referrals and referrals from Islington Outreach Forum agencies (inc.
