Hope for homeless inpatients

London NHS trust seeks discharge co-ordinator Having reported the problem of homeless in-patients either being discharged to the street or bed blocking (see Issue 32, London edition), The Pavement is glad to see one NHS trust taking the problem seriously. A job advert posted on 17th February states the Guys & St Thomas NHS trust, London, are looking for a homeless patients discharge co-ordinator. This full-time job must be a step in the right direction, but whether they'll be able to find anywhere safe to discharge people to without a benefits claim or right-to-remain is another matter.
