Homeless health boost

November 01 2015
Homeless people are getting less backward at coming forward!

Homeless people are getting better at coming forward for health checks and vacinations, according to a survey by the Queens Nursing Institute.

The data, released ahead of the 2015 Homeless Health Survey, which is due to be published soon, showed an eight per cent increase in flu vaccinations taken up by patients who are homeless.

Other stats showed a 10 per cent increase in health assessments; 11.5 per cent increase in TB screening and 16 per cent increases in Hepatitis and HIV testing.

There was also a 28 per cent increase in homeless patients seeking sexual health advice.
