Peter Pickles\' long walk

Spitalfield Crypt Trust will benefit from an astonishing fundraising effort Well done to Peter Pickles, who, having recovered from a violent attack last year (Issue 20 of The Pavement), has completed a walk to raise money for the Spitalfield Crypt Trust. On 28th March, Mr Pickles began walking the 70 miles from St Leonard's, Shoreditch to St Leonard's, Hythe, near Folkstone. He arrived there on Monday 31st March and was met by Hythe Town Councillor Mr Richard Carroll. Mr Pickles told The Pavement: "I am doing this walk to say thank you to those who gave support to myself and my pal Lionel, when we were attacked last year." He added that "the worst part of the walk was the last 60 yards up a very steep hill".
