Why a drugs column?

A reader asks why we perpetuate stereotypes Dear Sir, Why do you continue to have so much about drugs in your otherwise excellent magazine? It is unfair to stereotype your readership, as you have pointed out in the past, as being beggars, drug addicts and parasites. However, you still have a column [Cold turkey] dedicated to drug addiction. Dan McDonald By email Dear Mr McDonald, You don't have to be a drug addict to find 'Cold turkey' an interesting and informative read; and if you are not suffering from some for of addiction, the column will, at least, help give insight into the lives of your fellows who may. The prevalence of addiction in society generally suggests you will be affected by it at some point, so reading about it is worthwhile, if only to recognize what others are going through. Editor
