A defiant message of solidarity stands beside lines inspecting human condition and introspection

Hiding Places
by Chris Bird

We hide in the streets,
We hide in houses
apartments and flats,
We hide in jobs,
We hide in routines,
And TV,
We hide on tube trains,
We hide in shirts and ties.

Some men,
Hide in violent disorder,
And alcohol,
Some people hide
In spiteful comments,
Or hate crime.

We have learned to hide,
In families,
In names, in traditions
Or religion.

We hide in heroin and cocaine,
We hide in prison,
In art, in rock music, in jazz and blues,
In shoplifting, in theft and crime,

All human creatures
Learn to hide,
Hoping never to be found.

Let's Not Forget
by Ant Mac

Offer others words of comfort
better yet lend them a hand
to all of those who are forgotten
whether it's woman, child or man.

In us all should sit compassion
beyond any reasons of doubt
it should never have become the fashion
leaving those with less without.

Feed the hungry, provide them shelter
the cost of living needs to drop
stand hard for living all out of kilter
we must bring poverty to a stop!

I don’t know how to love small
by John Joseph Sheehy MacSheehy

The rain was fantastic in the morning
You wished for rain
And broke millions of clouds
Then the rain turned to hailstorm
Angry winds
From the north of Scotland, blowing
As I was wishing to warm myself
You wished for fire to warm yourself
And I set out for the world on wild flames
I didn't know how to love
Because of selfishness
All because I love you, togetherness
Gone wayward in the heart and soul
A remarkable mission ruined.
