Man takes on \'lice\' station

May 22 2009
One day in prison for newly-released practical joker A man used his sense of humour to get through a rainy and windy night in Lytham, removing the letters 'P' and 'O' from the local police station sign, so it simply read 'Lytham lice station'. Simon Frodsham, of 'no fixed abode', 38, had been released from Preston Prison late that day and arrived in the Lytham area with no money and nowhere to stay, local press reported. After modifying the police station sign he hid the letters in a bush. However, later that night he rang the Blackpool Police headquarters and said he was behind the joke. He later pleaded guilty to causing damage to property belonging to Lancashire Police and was sentenced to one day in prison by Blackpool magistrates.
