Cardiff homeless rates soar

Number up by 81 per cent in just two years

The number of people sleeping rough in Cardiff, Wales has increased by 81 per cent in just two years.

Wales Online reported that at least 1,400 people were recorded to be homeless in the city between 2013 to 2016.

Within the last three months of 2016 at least 368 people were counted to be sleeping rough in Cardiff.

Mia Rees of homelessness charity The Wallich told Wales Online, "although the Welsh Government has taken steps, not enough is being done to prevent rough sleeping in Wales."
