Charles William Bean: full honours Charles William Bean: full honours
A homeless Vietnam veteran is buried with full military honours in Colorado A homeless veteran who died recently at the age of 58, was buried with full military honours in Denver, Colorado. Charles William Bean, one of around 800 homeless veterans in Denver, had lived mostly on the streets for many years. The coroner's office had been unable to find any surviving relatives to join the small funeral procession at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Like fellow veteran Jim Rendon, who attended his funeral, Mr Bean had served in the military during the Vietnam war. The burial was paid for by The Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program, which has helped find the funds to hold burial services for close to 500 homeless veterans since 2000.
