Violent predator jailed for assault - finally

 

Carl Whitfield, of no fixed address, was finally jailed this month for his string of assault charges resulting from an incident with an ex-partner last November. With a history of luring vulnerable women from Birmingham hostels into violent relationships, Whitfield was also given a CRASBO (Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order) banning him from entering exclusion zones around hostels and drug rehab centres in the city centre and Moseley.

Whitfield preyed on women residing in hostels for homeless and vulnerable women, in the hope of striking up a romantic attachment - almost all of which resulted in violence. Investigating officer, detective constable Neil Powell said of the verdict: “The jail sentence and court order will protect vulnerable people and staff who have endured his poor behaviour for too long.”
